Week of Bounty

The Esra Institute and A.F.M Moorreesburg

During the Week of Bounty the Esra Institute and the AFM joined hands in collecting items to distribute to the poor, in our communities.

It was such a joy to see little children receiving toys or an item of clothing. The joy reflected in their faces, reminded all of us how privileged we are, and how the Lord provides for out material needs. It was a blessing to see so many people arrive with bags full of clothing and food to donate. Many also brought along items of furniture. It looked as though many were more blessed giving, than those who received.

We are still in the process of receiving goods, although the tempo has tapered off dramatically. However, we will only halt distribution when there is no more to give !!

We have resolved to continue or involvement with next years Week of Bounty. It was wonderful to be involved in the project.

There is such an overwhelming need ion our area. Amongst others we were able to help a couple who were acting as foster parents themselves, a man whose entire house and contents had been lost in a fire.

The vehicle we used to distribute goods has the number ESRA 10.4. It soon became well known in the area, attracting large crowds wherever we went.

We sometimes don't realise how privileged and fortunate we are, often choking on the silver spoon in our mouths.
